Description

It grows to a height of 30 to 60 cm. The stem is usually overgrown, firm, with white, downward-facing hairs, the scales fitting snugly against the stem. An Eurasian species that is widespread throughout the world today. It appears along paths and in similar ruderal sites and also as a field weed. Adult plants are more resistant to herbicides. It is also widely used in folk medicine.
