Description

It has a thin whitish main root. The upright, branched stem is overgrown with bristly hairs and leafy with two to three times pinnately divided leaves. At the top of the shoots tiny white flowers form compound whorls. A single black-purple flower is often developed in their middle. The compound inflorescences are initially flat, and when the prickly fruits ripen, the kobul rays are placed upright. Carrots are characterized by feathery divided leaves of the mantle (leaves developed on the basis of a compound kobula). It grows especially on dry soils in sunny positions and is a common and widespread species in Slovenia. Carrots are also used as a medicinal plant, with which people alleviate problems with digestion and metabolism.
