The species name carthusiana comes from the area of the original censuses, located near Grenoble (France), where the Carthusian monasteries (Grande Chartreuse) are known.

Description

The leaves grow in clusters, oblong-triangular to lanceolate in outline, in the lower part almost as wide as in the middle, long-stalked (the stalk reaches almost half of the leaf), 3 times pinnately composed. I. order segments oblong-triangular, gradually tapering towards the apex. End segments deeply incised to patchy, remaining serrated. Spores kidney-shaped, covered by veils, which is serrated along the edge.
