Description

It is an aquatic plant with a strong, creeping rhizome. Leaf stalk round in cross section. The furrow is stellate and has 12 to 22 arms. It grows in standing waters in the lowlands, needs rich soil and a relatively constant water level. A common ornamental plant in ponds in parks.
