Description

It is one of the first plants of the year to allow bees a rich pasture. It usually overgrows larger areas. It is a plant that is also used in horticulture for planting flower beds, or as a pot for early spring window decoration. It grows into an evergreen and strongly branched shrub up to 30 cm high. Shoots are usually erect and easily brittle. The leaves are needle-shaped up to 10 mm long and up to 1 mm wide. They have a pointed tip. They grow in vertebrae three or four at a time. The underside has a white line. The flowers are pink, red, and exceptionally white. They are grouped in clustered inflorescences. Dark anthers grow from the flowers.
