Description

The plant contains royal jelly. The bristle stem is erect, simple or overgrown, up to 1 m high. Lower leaves stalked, pinnately divided, with narrow, striate prongs, upper leaves sessile. Flowers red, large, on a long, bristly-haired stalk. Locked in a green, two-leafed cup before flowering, they fall off quickly later. The anthers are not thickened, the head bare.
