Description
It has a creeping stem that is woody at the bottom. It grows to a height of 30 to 200 cm. Leaves stalked, simple or often trifoliate. The flowers have a purple corolla and bright yellow almost grown anthers. Fruit red, ovoid strawberry. It grows among shady shrubs on hillsides, ruins from the lowlands to the Montana belt. It is toxic. Bitter juice, which contains the alkaloid solanine and the even bitter saponing glycoside dulcamarin, has a healing effect.
