Description

A large, bushy, broad, fast-growing deciduous tree. Crown broadly oval, older broader, domed. Branches erect to open, lower pendant. Leaves broadly heart-shaped (8-15 cm), shallowly sharply serrated along the edge, bright green, densely white-hairy below; autumn yellow. Flowers in light, drooping inflorescences (3-5 flowers each), simple, pale yellow, with many anthers, fragrant. Fruits dry, ovoid (0.8-1.2 cm), slightly felted hairy, gray-brown. Ripening: September-October. It grows well in deep, moderately moist soils in moderately sunny, cooler habitats.
