Description
It grows up to 5 m in width. The branches are erect and can grow up to 15 cm thick. The root system is superficial but well developed. The rind is yellowish brown and sprinkled with lenticels. The leaves are palmately patched with three cloths and arranged crosswise. The leaves are up to 12 cm in size. The leaf margin is serrated. In autumn, they turn a beautiful yellow to dark red color. The white flowers are grouped in pakobules up to 10 cm wide. There are larger sterile flowers on the outer edge. The fruit is red and contains a stone. It requires well-drained and constantly moist soil, otherwise it thrives on all types of soil. It is suitable for both sunny and shady sites. In the spring, it is better suited to a site where it is protected from the early morning sun. It tolerates frost well.
