Description
It is widespread almost throughout Europe, and North Africa from Portugal and Morocco in the west to the Altai and the Caucasus in the east. It was later also relied on in North and South America and New Zealand. It grows up to an altitude of about 2100 meters. The stem is square in cross section, and at the top there are small white flowers in inflorescences with four petals, which reach 1 to 1.5 mm in diameter.
In traditional medicine, tea from common hunger is used in diseases of the liver and bile, as well as in cooking.
