Description
It belongs to the Asteraceae family.
The stem has grown and bears several baskets. The basket is smaller compared to the basket at stemless carline thistle. The sheath leaves are yellow. The inner sheath leaves are longer than the outer, medium dark brown. The leaves are more or less glabrous, the middle and upper ovate-lanceolate, rounded at the base or the stem is half embraced. It is a European species that is widespread on grassy and rocky slopes, along waters, in light forests and forest-steppes up to the subalpine zone.
